CNX-01: Mae Sa Elephant Camp and Orchid Farm:

The Mae
Sa Elephant Camp is located about 27 kms north of Chiang Mai and
is a wonderful place to see these amazing mammals receive their
daily training, perform traditional duties amidst the trees of
the forest and take baths in the cool, nearby streams. This tour
also includes a peaceful visit to a large orchid nursery and a
butterfly farm.

CNX-02: Doi Suthep and Meo Doi

This tour
features a scenic drive through the most historic areas of
Chiang Mai, including a pass through the old city walls, city
gates and moat. The drive continues into Chiang Mai’s tourist
area, the local market, foreign consulates, government buildings
and ‘Tapae’ before continuing to the acclaimed temple Wat
Phrathad Doi Suthep, home to a holy relic of the Lord Buddha and
considered by many to be the most sacred wat in northern
Thailand. Built in A.D. 384 and situated 3,500 feet above sea
level, this temple offers an interesting challenge as it
contains a flight of over 300 steps to reach its top level. Once
on top of the summit, visitors will be treated to a panoramic
view of the city before leaving to visit the primitive Meo Hill
Tribe village a community known for its unique culture and
colorful costumes. The trip to the village will be made by local
truck.

CNX-03: Lampoon and Pa-Sang:

Located
south of Chiang Mai, the ancient town of Lampoon has managed to
retain its traditional charms over the years. It is home to many
ancient temples, including Wat Phrathad Haripoonchai, which
boasts a Pagoda housing a relic of the Lord Buddha. Wat
Jamathevi is situated just outside the western gate of Lampoon
and it too has an interesting Pagoda, this one showing a Mon
tribal influence. Both temples are over 1000 years old and a
visiting them is like taking a step through time. This tour
concludes with a visit to Pa-Sang, a village famed for it’s
local industries including Thai cotton weaving.

CNX-04: Home Industries:

A popular
shopping destination, San Kampaeng is also famous for its range
of local cottage industries and handicrafts, including authentic
Thai silk and cotton weaving. The nearby Bo-Sang village is also
a recommended destination for would be shoppers and has many
interesting items on display including decorative paper
umbrellas; the Celadon kilns, with their traditional stoneware;
lacquer ware; carved teakwood and jewelry and silverware
factories. Guests will be able to witness firsthand the skill of
these local craftsmen as they consider which products to buy as
souvenirs.

CNX-05: Chiang Mai City and
Temples Tour:

This
amazing sightseeing tour takes guests around the famous city for
an up-close and personal look at some of its most notable
temples, as well as stops at its old city walls, gates and moat,
and the local market and Tapae Gate. Highlight of this trip
include Wat Chiang Man, the city’s oldest temple and famed for a
Chedi supported by rows of elephantine buttresses; Wat Phrasing
home of the beautiful Lai Kham chapel with its exquisite
woodcarving and northern style murals; Wat Jedihuang and its
enormous Pagoda (which was partially destroyed by an earthquake
in 1545); and Wat Suan Dok, which dates back to the 14th century
when it served as the pleasure gardens to the Thai monarchy.
Nowadays it houses several white Chedis, containing the ashes of
Chiang Mai’s former Royal family.

CNX-06: Khantoke Dinner:
Evening

One of
Chiang Mai’s most popular tours, this outing offers guests a
chance to enjoy a traditional meal prepared in the Khantoke
(northern Thailand) style. While guests are seated on floor
cushions with an array of classical dishes arranged before them,
exciting and stimulating performances will unfold before their
very eyes. Entertainment for this evening will include the
traditional Finger, Sword and Candle dances as well as the
Ramwong, for which all quests will be invited and encouraged to
participate. The evening concludes with performances from the
Akha, Yao, Lahu, Meo and Karen Hill Tribes.

CNX-07 Elephant Safari and
Rafting Trip:

This full
day of fun and excitement begins at the Chiang Dao young
elephant training camp, located 56 kms, from Chiang Mai. Guests
leave in the morning and observe the elephants taking their
morning baths in a stream before commencing their daily work
routines such as pulling and pilling logs and performing many
other interesting activities. Guests will then get the
experience of a lifetime by riding the elephants into the jungle
for one hour before enjoying a delicious, local lunch. The next
part of the adventure starts soon afterwards with a bamboo
rafting trip down a stretch of the Ping River. The last stop is
a visit to the Orchid Farm before arriving back at the hotel in
the late afternoon.

CNX-08 Doi Inthanond National
Park:

This tour
starts with a scenic drive through the mountainous countryside
to the Doi Inthanon National Park, home to a preserved forest
and Doi Inthanon, the highest mountain in Thailand (standing at
8,514 feet above sea level).
Upon arrival at the peak of the mountain, one can
have many
unique photo opportunities before taking time for a walk on a
beautiful trail.
The tour continues with a visit Phra Mahathat
Napha Methanidon and Phra Mahathat Naphaphon Phumisiri, twin
pagodas which were built to commemorate the fifth cycle
birthdays of King Bhumibol Adulyadej and Queen Sirikit. Both
pagodas share similar bases as well as a two-level walking path
that surrounds them. The pagodas enshrine Lord Buddha’s ashes
and Buddha images, and overlook the magnificent scenery of Doi
Inthanon. The tour continues with a visit to the Karen Hill
Tribe Village and the Royal Project, followed by lunch at a
local restaurant.
Upon descending, guests will stop at the beautiful Vachiratharn
waterfalls then drive to Baan Ta-Wai’ (Hang Dong District) a new
cottage industries village that produces everything from
woodcarving and pottery to classical Thai artworks.

Chiang Rai and Golden Triangle:

This Chiang Rai tour takes travelers around Northern Thailand by
means of roads that cross over mountains and wind through
picturesque valleys. The first stop on this adventure is ‘Wiang
Pa Pao’, an area known for its hot springs, followed by a trip
to Mae Chan where the villages of the Yao and Akha hill tribes
are located. We will then proceed to Chiang Saen, an ancient
city (A.D. 1260) situated opposite Laos on the steep banks of
the Mekong River. Next is a trip to the infamous ‘Golden
Triangle’, the area where the borders of Thailand, Myanmar and
Laos meet, followed by a local lunch. After everyone has eaten,
we will make several short visits to primitive villages in the
area before proceeding to Mae Sai. This is the northern-most
border trading town between Thailand and Myanmar and a place
where you can shop for many interesting items from both
countries. The trip concludes with a return trip to Chiang Mai.

Lampang Elephant School and Lampoon:

The starting point for this trip is 93 km trek from Chiang Mai
along a mountainous highway to Lampang. On the way, guests will
stop at the Lampang Elephant Conservation Center to witness
fascinating demonstrations and experience a one-hour jungle ride
atop one of these majestic beasts. After a delicious local
lunch, the tour heads back towards Chiang Mai, stopping at
Lampoon. Steeped in a history that dates back to A.D. 700,
Lampoon is famous for several ancient and revered temples. Among
them is Wat Prathad Hariphunchai, built in A.D. 1044 at the site
of the ruins of the Royal Palace, and Wat Jamathevi, named after
a 7th century queen and founder of Lampoon. Her ashes
are interred in the main stupa of the Wat. The trip concludes
with a fascinating 26 km ride along the old Lampoon-Chiang Mai
Road.

Elephant Safari & OX-Cart Ride:

Visitors on this tour are sure to enjoy the drive through the
hilly, wooden area on their way to see elephants at work at Mae
Taman Camp. This experience is followed by a half-hour of
elephant trekking through a jungle and across a river before
setting off to a nearby village. Once there, another half-hour
ride - this time by Ox-Cart - will take place, giving guests an
insight into the daily life of the villagers. After lunch, the
adventure continues with a bamboo rafting trip down a 5 km
stretch of the Mae Taeng River before finishing at the beautiful
Orchid Nursery and Butterfly Farm.

This fascinating half-day tour first takes visitors to the ruins
of Waing Kumkam, which was once the old capital of the Lanna
Kingdom at the end of 13th Century before continuing
to Baantawai. Here, you will see a wide range of teakwood
handicraft products and wood carvings as well as many old-style
Lanna style houses decorated with antique furniture. The day
concludes with a visit to Muang Klung, a small village where
clay pots are made in the traditional style.

Buffalo Camp and Hill Tribes:

This tour will take you away from the city to the heart
countryside, where you will be introduced to many thrilling
adventures and cultural differences along the way. The first
highlight will be a demonstration on how buffaloes are taught to
work with farmers as a team in the rice fields. The trip
continues with a drive to the Chiang Dao area to visit variety
of five hill-tribe villages (Karen, Akha, Lisu, Lahu and Palong),
each with different costumes, culture and ways of life. A lunch
box will be provided en route to the villages.

Long Neck Karen and Boat Trip:

This trip begins with a three-and-a-half hour ride from Chiang
Mai north to Thaton, but the long journey promises to be worth
every minute. The first stop includes a visit to the Hmong
hill-tribe village, followed by lunch at local restaurant. You
will then embark on a 30 minute boat trip along the Mae Kok
River to Baan Mai before continuing by mini-van to visit three
more hill-tribe
villages:
Akha, Palong and Long Neck Karen. Upon returning to Thaton, you
will visit Wat Thaton, which is situated on the top of the hill
providing panoramic views of local villages, the Mae Kok River
and the many abundant forests on the mountain range. If time
permits, a stop at a local market will take place on the return
trip to the hotel.

Morning Sunrise Tour:

An introduction to Buddhism is the theme for the first part of
this short trip, one that takes visitors to Wat Srisoda, at the
foot of Doi Suthep. Once there, you will see Buddhist monks
having their morning prayer and making the traditional Buddhist
food offering. You will also be able to experience a bit of
traditional Thai culture by offering food to the monks. From
there, you will go to the morning market and observe how the
people of Chiang Mai carry on their daily lives with a rickshaw
ride through Chiang Mai Town.

leaving your hotel to the Wat Chai Mongkol boat pier, you’ll
enjoy the river view from both sides of the Ping River on a
two-hour cruise upstream to Chiang Mai town. Next is a quick
stop at the Thai Farmer House where fresh fruits and soft drinks
will be enjoyed in a lush garden. After the cruise, a vehicle
will take visitors to the local flower market as well as Wat
Chedi Luang and Wat Phra Sing before returning to the hotel.
