Three Days Mini Thailand |
Day 01 Bangkok – Damnoen Saduak –
Kanchanaburi (L)
As a tourist destination, Thailand offers a
bit of something for everyone, including the bustling
excitement of Bangkok, the rich culture of life in rural
villages, fascinating ancient ruins and other historic
sites. This tour gives visitors a sampling of everything,
resulting in a well-rounded trip that will provide many
beloved memories.
The adventure begins with an early morning
pickup from a Bangkok hotel where guests are whisked away to
the Damnoen Saduak Floating Market. This is a place where
traditional Thai lifestyles dating back many years continue
to thrive today amongst a crowded environment filled with
vendors and patrons buying, selling and trading a host of
goods including fruits and vegetables.
The trip continues to Kanchanaburi, a place
with a unique and important history relating to World War
II. Sites guests will see include the Allied War Cemetery
and JEATH War Museum, which is a replica of prisoner of war
camp and contains many photographs, artifacts and other
memorabilia. From there, they will take a ride on the
historic Death Railway Train, which passes through a lush
forest along the original wooden viaducts. After lunch at a
local restaurant, visitors will make a stop at Wat Pa Luang
Ta Bua (also known as the Tiger Temple). Built in 1994 and
situated in a lush forest, Wat Pa Luang Ta Bua is home to
more than 20 grown tigers and tiger cubs living amongst the
monks on the temple grounds. Native to places like Thailand,
Laos, Myanmar, Cambodia, Vietnam, Malaysia and Southeast
China, many of these tigers were orphans rescued from
poachers in the wild, while others were born and raised at
the temple. Later in the day, guest will return to Pung Waan
Resort (or similar) to enjoy dinner and accommodations.
Day 02 Kanchanaburi - Ayutthaya (B, L)
The day starts with breakfast before guests
set out to the Hellfire Pass Memorial, a tribute to the more
than 90,000 men and women who lost their lives cutting
through a stone mountain to build the Death Railway during
the Second World War. Here they can reflect on this time at
a museum dedicated to the Allied prisoners of war and Asian
laborers who suffered and died for this cause. From here,
they will continue Ayutthaya (the old capital of Siam) by
way of Suphan Buri, which offers breathtaking views of
scenery near the Burmese border that is dominated by fertile
farmland and jungle-clad mountains. After a brief stop at a
local restaurant en route, guests will arrive at Ayutthaya
where they can explore at their own leisure before retiring
for the evening at the Krungsri River Hotel (or similar).
Day 03 Ayutthaya – Bang Pa In - Bangkok (B,
L)
After a delicious breakfast, guests will
marvel at the ancient ruins at Ayutthaya including Wat
Srisanpetch, Wat Yai Chai Mongkol and other beautiful
temples at Wat Chai Watthanaram. From there, they will
continue to Bang Pa In, the former home of the kings of
Ayutthaya, dating back to the eighteenth-century and the
Royal Palace which is situated amongst beautiful, extensive
park grounds in an exotic combination of Thai and European
architecture. Particularly pleasing is the Thai pavilion
built in the middle of a lake and the Chinese-style palace
Vihat Chamrun. The day concludes with a luxury cruise
complete with lunch and leisure down the fabled Chao Phraya
River to Bangkok. Once there, guests will be transported
back to their hotel.

|
Day 01 Bangkok – Kanchanaburi – River Kwai (L, D)
Throughout history, the ancient town of
Kanchanaburi has been the site of many battles, as the
neighboring Burmese used it for an invasion route to enter the
Thai Kingdom. This connection to wars continued to the
twentieth-century, when Kanchanaburi was the location of the
notorious Death Railway and the Bridge on the River Kwai, two of
the most famous World War II sites and the subjects of countless
books and films.
Furthermore, Kanchanaburi is also a place known
for magnificent landscapes and charming natural beauty and is
the home of several of Thailand's largest waterfalls, as well as
many caves, national parks and extensive wildlife sanctuaries. A
wide variety of outdoor pursuits can be found in Kanchanaburi
including fishing, rafting, canoeing, mountain biking,
bird-watching, stargazing, golfing, elephant and jungle
trekking, and even living on bamboo rafts.
This tour offers glimpses of Kanchanaburi’s
unique place in history, its majestic natural beauty and
fascinating wildlife. It starts with an early morning pickup
from a major hotel in Bangkok’s downtown area. Upon arrival in
Kanchanaburi, visitors will witness the Thailand-Burma Railway
Centre Museum, War Cemetery, the Bridge over the River Kwai and
take a ride on the historic Death Railway Train, which passes
through a lush forest to Namtok Station. After transferring to
the River Kwai Village Hotel, checking in and enjoying a quick
lunch, visitors will be taken to Wat Pa Luang Ta Bua (also known
as the Tiger Temple). Built in 1994 and situated in a lush
forest, Wat Pa Luang Ta Bua is home to more than 20 grown tigers
and tiger cubs living amongst the monks on the temple grounds.

Vietnam, Malaysia and Southeast China, many of these tigers were
orphans rescued from poachers in the wild, while others were
born and raised at the temple. Later in the day, guest will
return to the hotel and enjoy dinner and accommodations.
Day 02 River Kwai - Bangkok (B, L)
After breakfast, the trip continues to the
Hellfire Pass Memorial. A part of the Death Railway, Hellfire
Pass was a key component of the Japanese Imperial Army’s push
through to Burma and means to overcome total reliance on sea
transport during the War. Allied prisoners and Asian laborers
cut the pass through a stone mountain during World War II, at
the cost of more than 90,000 lives. Presently, there are walking
trails and a museum dedicated to men and women who suffered and
died at Hellfire Pass and elsewhere in the Asia Pacific region
during World War II. The tour continues to an elephant camp
where visitors will enjoy an exciting afternoon of elephant
rides and bamboo rafting, followed by a picnic lunch. Upon
returning to the hotel, guests will check out and be transported
back to Bangkok and finally transferred to a hotel in the
